Welcome to St. Werburgh’s Primary School

“Welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you”

Romans 15:7

A very warm welcome to St Werburgh’s Catholic Primary School - a little oasis in the heart of Birkenhead.

We are an integral part of the parish family of St Werburgh & St Laurence and work in close partnership with our families, governors and the wider community.

It is a privilege to lead a community where faith, relationships, and a deep sense of belonging lie at the heart of all we do. Guided by Gospel values, we strive to nurture every child so that they feel known, loved, and celebrated for the unique gifts God has given them.

Our mission is simple: to ensure that all children achieve, belong and thrive. We believe that true success comes not only from academic achievement but also from developing confidence, resilience, compassion and a love of learning. Every child is encouraged to aim high, to develop aspiration, and to recognise their God-given potential.

We are proud to be a highly inclusive school, where diversity is valued and every child is welcomed and supported. Our school is a safe and nurturing place where all children feel cared for, respected and understood. We work hard to ensure that all children enjoy coming to school and enjoy their lessons, fostering curiosity, creativity and a joy for learning.

Through a wide range of enrichment activities, we provide opportunities that inspire, challenge and broaden horizons, ensuring that all children thrive both academically and personally. We aim to equip all children with the relevant life skills they need to flourish in the world beyond primary school—rooted firmly in the teachings of Christ.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. We hope it gives you a sense of the warmth, joy and purpose that define our school. We look forward to welcoming you into our community, where together we grow in faith, in learning and in love.

You are most welcome to come and visit us and see what we have to offer. Please contact us by phone, email or pop into the office to arrange a visit.
